N Retreat of Spiritan Community
Letter from Superior of
Vietnam – India Group
Dear confreres, friends, and benefactors,
The joys and sorrows of a family are proportional
to its size. In large families, good news and bad
news are numerous. In one year, we too have
experienced many things.
At Pentecost 2021, after 14 years of close
collaboration, we split from our big brother, the
Taiwan Spiritan group. In turn, we become the big
brother of our Spiritan community of India which
was established in 2010. We will not forget that the
confreres in Taiwan played a key role in the
establishment of the first community in Vietnam in
2007. We were three at the beginning, Patrick
Palmer, Le Quang Trinh, and myself Frédéric
Rossignol. This year, we are more than 40 members
today.
In March 2021, we had the joy of having six new
Vietnamese priests, the first group ordained for
Vietnam in the history of the Congregation! Of this
first group, two are now working in Vietnam and four
others are preparing to work in four different
continents! Three other brothers who are currently
deacons will be ordained priests in January, and
others will follow. The future is promising and that
Hai tân linh mục Phêrô Thái Của & Lm Giuse Duy Vũ is why we are currently building a third floor in our
theology house in Manila to welcome more students
in the coming years.
